ITINERARY:

Day 1 Antananarivo
Meet and greet on arrival at Ivato airport and transfer to the hotel.
Night at Hotel Palissandre 4* with breakfast and dinner

Day 2 Antananarivo-Andasibe
After an early breakfast, departure to Andasibe, crossing large eucalyptus forests, typical landscape of upland slopes with terraced rice fields and the heart of the valleys. Marozevo stop to visit the small reserve of Pereyras a center for breeding and reproduction of many species of butterflies, chameleons, reptiles and amphibians from Madagascar. The center is intended to repopulate areas where these species are endangered because of the constant deforestation and frequent bush fires. Continue to Andasibe. Visit the private reserve of Vakona where it is possible to approach lemurs so close you can feed (provided to stock up on bananas) and be photographed with his shoulder. Possibility of a night tour (optional) to search for nocturnal lemurs whose eyes glow in the trees, as the lemurs or lépilémurs.

Day 3 Andasibe
Exploring on foot (2-3 hours) the exceptional reserve of Analamazaotra where the legendary indri (Indri indri), endemic to this region. This is the largest of the lemurs (65 cm in height and weight +/- 25 kg) and also the noisiest, known for his plaintive cry. Unlike all lemurs, it has no tail, but only a stump instead. The indri is the only monogamous species; if one spouse happens to die, the other will remain a widower from the rest of his life raising his offspring. This reserve is also the stronghold of 11 species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs, as the griffon lemur (Eulemur fulvus fulvus), bellied lemur (Eulemur rubriventer), the woolly avahi (Avahi laniger), gray bamboo lemur (Hapalemur griseus) and the vari lemur or lemur maned (Varecia variegata). Enigmatic insects, chameleons, tenrecs and colorful birds can be seen on a guided hike through the jungle. The lushness of the vegetation will also deliver its riches creepers endless pandanus trees such precious rosewood, ferns, lichens, epiphytic orchids, medicinal plants, etc.

Day 4 Andasibe – Akanin’ny Nofy
If you have not been able to see the Indri Indri yesterday and if you’re an early riser, you still have the opportunity to see the Indri Indri before leaving for Manambato, a village of Andasibe 3h after the Brickaville bifurcation located on the shores of Rasoabe Lake. Next you will continue on a portion the Panganales Canal. Arrival and installation at your hotel, than you will be able to choose from several excursions proposed to you.

Day 5 & 6 Akanin’nyNofy
A series of optional excursions will be proposed during the next two days – on foot or by boat. Do not miss the guided tour of the private reserve of Ansirakalaloty “the palmarium” containing different species of lemurs, but also an amazing flora. You will also have the opportunity to visit the typical Betsimisarakavillage.

Day 7 Akanin’ny Nofy – Antananarivo
Departure to Tamatave by boat by the Panganales Canal (about 2 hours). Once at Tamatave, transfer to airport for your flight to Antananarivo. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 8 Antananarivo
Early morning departure to visit the Palace of Ambohimanga, which means the blue hill, 20km from Tana, a remnant of the Imerna culture, summer palace of kings and queens. Listed World Heritage Site by Unesco. Lunch in a local restaurant on your charge.
Back to Tana and visit of handicraft market at Digue on the way to the airport.
